Kelley Blue Book accurate???
Kelley Blue Book accurate???
Hey all-
I've decided that it's just not worth it to keep the evo anymore. 500 miles in 9 months just does'nt seem worth it. Anyway does anyone have any experience selling a real low mileage 9? I would love to hear/get some advice from someone in the Northeast that has sold one.... Mine is a WW w/SSL with 505 miles all stock if that helps any??? Thanks!

KBB, Edmunds, etc are all round about prices. They show you what the average price for your area of that particular car is going for. It is possible to get a higher price. It all depends upon your negotiating skills. If you want to get the most money out of your sales then your best bet is selling it to a private party because a dealership will not give you as much.
I have a son and also one on the way, my Evo is my family car My wife has a two door and we will soon get a suv for her but IMO The evo was built for the family guy who needs to haul the kids to school and still have fun on the weekends!

KBB is just for reference, their pricing are usually higher than real pricing, it's only used for reference, most used car dealer go with NADA, go to their website.
Hi. I am not in the northeast area, Kinda off the opposite, but I recently sold my old Toy PU. Because I had other cars to drive. It had very very low mileage, and come to find out, some were sold at near original new price. I asked and got much more then from the KKB., sold in 3 days.
Some cars are very popular, like small pick ups and mini vans, all Japanese. Evos are right for a small purchasing group. Luckily they are Not produced in large amounts, but at the same time it is not too well known. But if I were to buy one used, I would seriously considered the low mileage and condition of it. Craigslist is my first choice, then cars.com and lastly Auto trader for here in San Diego. I would look into new Evos too. Also you will loose the tax paid and any extras like Lojack etc...research around in your area and be patient. Also the warranty is half to the new owner. It'll be a good car for that one right person. Good luck!

KBB is generally not accurate for market value for low production vehicles that have an enthusiast following. KBB numbers are generally too low for these types of vehicles - e.g. Toyota Supra, BMW M3, Integra TypeR, Evo, STi, etc.
The fact that your car is completely factory stock and has such low mileage should help you sell it. Most Evo buyers want a stock, unmolested car. The fact that there are not many New ones left on dealer lots in the northeast should help you too. The few dealers that have new ones left are trying to charge a premium for them. I have no idea what you should price your car at, but just under new car invoice price might be a good starting point.

I think KBB is a little high. Look at the for sale forum here and autotrader I do not think the average 05' and 06' are holding there value very well others may disagree.
500miles in 9 months is low. I've put on about 310 in the last 5 months because it just isn't fast enough. I have my 05' for sale for 22.5OB with 27k on it mild mods, IX rims and tails and have gotten 3 offers the highest being 21k.
Locally I was offerred a trade in amount of 19.1k and 20k. Good luck and kids are awesome I have 4 just say some prayers now because teenagers can require a little extra time
