Is VividRacing really that clueless?
The fact that VividRacing priced their Evo showcase at $55k buy-it-now suggests that they really don't understand their own market.

The market for Evos is teenage boys with little cash to their name. Even more so with modded Evos. What financially successful 30+ year old would be caught dead in a gaudy riced-out car like the Vivid Evo? I'd be surprised if nearly all Evo buyers weren't signing leases, and those that aren't are getting loans. So how is such a person going to scrape together $55k in financing on a used car with a soon-to-be-voided warranty whose blue book value is already well below $25k?

VividRacing will be lucky to get new car invoice ($28.5k) on their car. And the smart money says that any offers higher than $31k on ebay are going to fall through. The embarrassment of their failed ebay auction can't help their business. They should have sold it cheap in a more discrete setting but with a strict nondisclosure on the sales price.

They won't sell it on Ebay....I personally believe there best chance is to put it in the Scottsdale auto trader. Some of the richest people in America live in Scottsdale. There has to be some rich kid who's dad will buy him Vivid's Evo 8 so he can wrap it around a pole!

The obviously didn't factor in depreciation into the car, and furthermore charging for the parts on the car is just in bad taste. After 5000 I expect the car will be in good condition but not great, probably taken a few beatings.....from the price it sounds as if they are charging MSRP for the Evo PLUS just below retail for all the parts.

As for warranty.....you think any mitsu dealer would honor a warranty on that thing? YA RIGHT!!!!

Leases I doubt, the Evo doesn't lease well and its easier to get a Finance than a lease contract anyway.

Anyway, I think it goes without saying that most people are financing a $32k car (with tax). Unless, you are coming out of another car and either didn't owe any money or the difference was minimal.... I would say most people are financing.

Unless you're extremely well off, paying cash for a $30k car is just stupid IMO. I would rather keep my money in the bank thanks.
