Radio Not Working After Gauges Installed

So i searched throughs 100s of pages looking for my solution

Problem: I installed 3 gauges tapping of the radios power and illumination. After the install I tried to turn the radio on but it didnt work. I didnt check the fuse under the hood yet because i didnt think it would be a fuse problem since the gauges are working good. I thought the stock radio might not be working so i swapped it out with an aftermarket unit from my other car but it's still not turning on. Does anyone know whats wrong?

thanks

Take the wire tap off, and if it works, you've found your problem.

Yes,as sometimes when using wire tap it will actually cut the wire you are tapping into in 1/2 causing this problem.

Wire taps are easy, but not fool proof. They really cause more problems than help.
Good old fashion wire strippers and some solder go along way.

Or, my personal favorite, wire strippers, solder and heat shrink tubing.
