What would you choose, the Apexi avcr ore the HKS AVC 6, if you only want to control boost and nothing more !

AVC-R...I have one for sale if you are interested. They work great and you don't get boost taper.

So if all you want is boost control why dont you just get a simple mbc and save yourself $450.00 to use elsewhere?

It would seem to me that when he chose these two EBC's he was looking to control boost taper.

Technically, you don't need a boost controller, and you certainly don't NEED an AVC-R, but if you'd like to control boost independently of the stock setup, without controlling it through the ECU, you'll need some sort of boost controller. Most people option for the Manual Boost Controler "MBC" which works fantastically. Others perfer an Electronic Boost Controller, like the AVC-R.
You could get a TBE, and a tune without a boost controller, but you would be down on power, and a Halman MBC would only cost you about $89.00.

Like overboosting? If that's the issue, the EVC 6 has a boost drop fuction, where if you overboost, it will lower the boost by whatever psi you decide. (not lower than WG presure obviously)
