Any bad effects from long trips in EVO?
Any bad effects from long trips in EVO?
I'm talking long (4hrs to 9hrs) trips in the EVO. Any back problems? Excessly tired? Would you take another car rather than have to take the EVO on the same trip again?
I know the EVO isn't supposed to be a GT type car, but can you still take it on long trips and live?
Thanks

I just drove mine from LA to L. Vegas and back (around 4-5 hours each way) and there were no problems at all. I went as fast as 140mph for a couple seconds and it was a little shaky but that's about it.
If you saw a yellow EVO VIII cutting cars off like crazy on the 15 fwy, it was me :P

I drove St. Louis to Orlando and back, about 1100 miles each way (13-14 hours each direction), one day there, one day back.
The biggest PITA for me was the poor highway mileage and the short range with the tiny gas tank, I had to stop every 3 hours or so for gas.
The suspension and seat wasn't a big deal, most of the roads were smooth, that was the big shocker!! I expected to be crippled and really there was no real problems, after the trip my right kidney area was sorta tender, maybe from the bolster, but also maybe from just sitting for such long periods of time and doing alot of manual labor in the 24 hours between the trips.
My other recent cars haven't had cruise control either, so I never even noticed that missing.
The sunroof rocked, putting all four door windows down about 50% (lowered till they "protected" the seatbelt attachments from flapping and howling) and running with the sunroof open was ALOT of fun, defintely the way to travel on the highway on a nice sunny day.

Cruise control would be great.
The center console is too narrow to rest your leg on comfortably.
I wanted to place a pillow there (as a spacer) on my 3 hour drive.
With cruise control this would not be a factor.
