i like our front bumper better than the IX...and who needs ACD ...i can turn just fine

 

+1 for liking our bumper better than the IX. I like the fact that the intercooler opening is larger for even larger intercooler mounts.

 

some evo 9 owners look down on the 8s for some reason...it funny to me when I see it.

Ive have a 03, to get a 06, I sold my 06 to go back to an 03

I dont like ACD, I was first last year in SCCA with my 03, this year sucked, because I HATE ACD!!!!

so that being said, I love 03's

 

Apparently you've never driven a IX then. They are probably 20-25whp more stock than the VIII's. It's been proven on the dyno.

Anyways, the 03's were really nice as long as you didn't get the nasty P0300 issue popping up. I think that's what really led to me selling mine. Other than that, I a lot of times wish I still had it since it was bulletproof for the 2 years I owned it. I've never **** on owning an 03!
However my IX is more modded and I love it more!

Also, to comment on the bumper/intercooler openings - the IX bumper fits the AMS FMIC w/o any modifications. You have to cut the VIII bumper. I think this is the same for other aftermarket FMIC's and the VIII bumper as well, cutting for the LICP hose to be specific. Done correctly; it's not an issue.

Btw, there's no 'below 03' in the US.

 

I dont have any hate towards the viii, but i would never say that the front end looks way better. For example you never see a ix owner converting their front end to an viii front. If it wasnt for the triangle front bumper and the blue recaros i would be driving an viii. ACD is way overrated in my opinion ..

 

I have an '02 VII RS2 with ACD and AYC...just got it recently, so I haven't tried it on track yet though...

 

in the end its still an evo thats all that should matter

 

 

i think the mivec only works with stock cams. from what i understand the stock cam shaft has 2 lobes for each cylinder. i dont believe the new larger cam shafts do this. if this is correct in reality the guys changing there camshafts are rendering mivec useless. thats why u see alot of guys just changing the exhaust cam beacause that does not have mivec.

that said i wish i had the ix - seats and turbo but thats it.

love my 03 as well, no complaints here. IX's are amazing cars and its been proven, but i just put the extra effort into mine to make it just that much better
