The cars are barely two years old, if you can make the same power out of them would'nt you go with a beat 03 to build then a perfectly fine ix.

 

At the end of the day its still an Evo and a great car. Doesn't matter what yr or model you have. Unfortunately there will always be those that look down on the early models.

 

I had a full bolt on cammed 2003. Loved it. I recently picked up a 2006 SE and I've done a tune, boost, and TBE. Should be about the same as the 2003. I like the looks of the 9 better but I liked the way my 8 drove. I hate the new gearing. I hate the feel of ACD (I had a TRE ralliart LSD in my 8), and I hate not having a moon roof anymore. I should have kept my 8 and stuck the $5k into mods.

 

The ealier 8's had better exterior/interior trim and finishes. Look at the window trim around a 9 and an 8 next time. There's a lot of little things that mitsu skimped on the 9's to keep the price down when they added the acd. So it just depends on what matters to you.

 

who cares about mivec? or acd? keep ur money and spend it where u want to. i like my 03

---the RS (only race oriented)

no, 2003 did not have an RS model.

RS started in 2004.

MR arrived in 2005 for the 05 EVO 8 models.
