GSR SE is the best model out IMO. You get all the good **** from the MR that's worth a damn (HIDs, roof, wheels etc) but you keep the 5-speed (6-speed is damn sloppy feeling IMO... 5-speed feels much more direct). If I could get another Evo it would def be a GSR SE.

You can build anything to be fast if you got the money.

1) Not sure why you're worked up about the trans. You likely will never use the car to the point that the 6spd's weaknesses become a hindrance.

2) 39k is ridiculous when SouthCoast Mitsu sells them for 33.9k, and shipping is only another 1k

3) Yes, the diamond black MR rims are very rare and coveted - they are not chrome. You basically handed your money to the dealership when you did that - very poor choice. The charcoal BBS rims are standard and came on all the 05 and regular 06 MRs, so they are run of the mill, not "sick."

4) No, a 50-trom doesn't spool like a stock turbo. No idea where in the world you heard that.

5) The IX SE is the best overall model, but it sounds like you are independently wealthy and don't really care about how much it costs to do whatever you want, so it shouldn't matter that you got an MR SE.

This kit equipped with the AMS 50R turbo will spool up slightly later than the stock turbo and have 400whp potential on 93-octane pump gas. When you add race gas to the mix, in excess of 500 whp is achievable.

EXCUSE me slightly later then stock.
As for the charcoals I think they look better.

i think you need to worry less and stop listening to everything that every bone head says on the internet forums...

the MR is perfectly fine...

if you want a track only car, then you should buy an RS, otherwise, there is nothing wrong with the MR SE.

yes, it was stupid to get rid of the SE wheels and yes you got PWNT paying 39k for a car you could of had for 34-36k at most any dealership, but nothing you can do now.

enjoy the car, and stop ****ing worrying about little ****

if you ever did decide to make the car a race car....something as small as the 6 speed tranny isnt going to make a ****ing difference....

it's not like you cant get a shep 6 speed if you ever break yours...

FWIW, i bought an MR SE and ive owned an MR in the past and wouldnt change my choice if i could

the gunmetal rims look way better then the crome ones. the 5 speed is the better way to go. looks like u paid sticker plus tax, u could have gotton 2k off that at least.

I personally would not worry about it. Just drive your car and enjoy it!

I have an Evo IX MR SE and almost got my wheels swapped out but didn't in the end as I got a TB car.

I have a IX MR and I would say i prefer these rims over the SE's look wise even though they are rarer.

MR 6speed is just fine - I love my car just the way it is - a little more HP in the future, but it runs just great as is!
