im in iraq, what do u guys suggest?
hey guys, im in iraq right now, and wanted to get my o2 sensor fixed while i was here....I was thinking of getting my wife to take it to mitsubishi and getting them to install a new o2 sensor.....my prob is......i dont know if they will utilize my already existing o2 simulator that i have already installed on the car now....see, who ever put my o2 sensor that is in there now got the o2 sensor wires crossed up and they are not wired together correctly. Originally my o2 sensor was ruined when i unhooked the entire stock exhaust except for the o2 sensor and yanked the exhaust out the back of the car ripping the o2 sensor and everything out.....then it was lost....so thats how i got to where im at today....lol...yes i know very crazy. See when i bought a new one i bought a bosch o2 sensor and mitsu put it in wrong cause they said it wouldnt work with my car...so anway do u guys think i can just get my wife to take it up there. And feel comfortable that they will fix it and still utilize my o2 fix i have, and not be like oh well your cell is still coming on because u dont have a cat...i mean do u think they know about the o2 fix and no cat? Sorry if this sounds completly crazy..thanks guys...i just wanted to have this fixed next time i see my car.

I would just wait until you get back... dealership may charge her $4,000 dollars and tell her the some other stuff needs replacing.
You know how they do when women bring cars in for servicing

why don't you get the spark plug anti fouler o2 fix instead of the simulator? it requires no wiring, so it is basically dummy proof.
heres how: remove your simulator, have the dealer put in a new rear o2 sensor. tell them thats all you want them to do. at the most it will require them to lift the car, remove the sensor, and if the wires are broke before the connector, they will have to wire a few wires together (15 minutes of work, assuming the wires are within reach). if the break is after the connector, all they will have to do is disconnect the connector, plug in new sensor and done! you must then go to autozone, buy a 2pack of spark plug antifoulers. measure the width of the o2 sensor tip and get a drill bit that size. take said drill bit and drill through one of the two antifoulers. then thread o2 sensor into that antifouler. thread those two into the last antifouler (the one that wasn't drilled), and thread all three together into the exhaust pipe, and presto, no more CEL.

the wouldnt take it to the dealer. for one it might ruin your warranty on your exhuast........NO BIGGIE whatever yes. but dealerships wanna charge you an arm and a leg and wanna make you do all this other ****. its too easy to do it yourself. just get some good instructions. to me from reading your post once you just need your cat delete sensor put in right. mine just hooked up straight into the factory harness that the orginal o2 sensor was hooked in. all the cat delete sensor does is fool the ECU into thinking that there is a CAT down there.........just my .02 cents
Taking it to a dealership is a no-go unless you know for a certainty that it is covered under warranty. I also agree with the comment about females being taken advantage of in situations like that. That's why I take care of my wife's car and mine.
