15,000 miles and counting for my Evo VIII.

Hello gang! I just wanted to share that I crossed over the 15,000 mile mark on my 3 month old Evo VIII yesterday. Where are the rest of you?? Anyone close to me on miles?

Question

Are you still on the original A046's, and if so, how are they holding up? (tread depth?). Just curious - @ 5000mi/month you must be doing some heavy duty highway travel. I do about 3000 to 3300 a month.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

I swapped out my original set at 4,000 miles since they were wearing funny, so I have about 11,000 miles on these and they are wearing pretty well. I drive all highway and really do not drive my car very hard most days. I drive fast, but not hard. Just straight highway and attention to air pressures (which is critical). Do you have an Evo? How many miles?

I drive at least 200 miles per day..sometimes more. 1 hour 45 minutes each way to work, and then any other driving in between. That is what happens when you live 100 miles away from your job.

6300 miles in almost 2 months. Haven't rotated the tires yet, but I can see the front advans are clearly wearing thinner than the rears. Still have over 1/2 tread left on the fronts and probably around 3/4's on the rear. I do alot of highway driving and do cut into corners at high speed alot!

Rotate your tires! That is how I got where I am on miles.

yeah...thats what I'm gonna do at the 7500 mile dealer service.
I did my first oil change myself at 2500. But I figure getting some dealer work done once in a while will be a good thing, in case I need warranty work.

The rotation really helped...I am getting mine rotated again.

Man I would buy a old hooptie and drive that and save the Evo for weekends. I don't think on my next new car I wanna use it as a daily driver.

Not yet, but it's coming - they tell me this month or next. There are some special circumstances. I was concerned about tire wear. Would like to have about 50% tread left @ the 15,000 mile mark.

I had some potenza R88's on another car (not AWD) which had the same UTQG rating (160) and I got 35,000 out of those.

My commute is 125 miles a day, plus weekend mileage, plus mileage on my other car, which makes for about 33,000 - 36,000 miles per year.

Thanks for the response.

Adios,

Fusoguy
