EVO owner survey from Mitsu
EVO owner survey from Mitsu
Hi all,
I got my Silver EVO about a month ago and I am enjoying every minute of it...
Just wanna let you all know I got a call from Mitsu. I thought it was the same usual dealer survey crap but it is actually a detail survey about EVO owners...
They ask you how do you rate the importance of AYC, Front LSD, driver selectable center diff, driver selectable damping supsension, upgrade radio. Sounds like Mitsu may add those in the future if our responses are positive!!!
And the most important part, they ask me how I would rate a Mitsu sponored driving school and my favorite, Mitsu sponored RALLY
school.
Please Please Please give them a 5 (strongly agree) about those schools. so they have enough positive feedback and make those school a reality!!!

Mitsubishi called me tonight to.
My rating of the car was five's all the way around.
And then I told her, We want the real JDM EVO 8 and the titainium turbo. No substandard parts please!
I bought my car March 31st.

This is true. I got a call today. I gave them "5" for most stuff. I laughed and told the lady that all the front LSD, driver-adjustable center diff, 6-speed, AYC, etc. was all Europe and JDM. She didn't get it...
Anyway - this is a true story

I wonder if this a CA thing I have had my car since March 15th and no one has called me yet .But if they do I sure will let them know we want all the Goodies they left off from the jdm and european version.
If this is true then the next person to get this call, get their number and we'll get all the guys from the forum to flood them with calls telling them to bring it all over, and especially ralliart!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't got the call yet, but if I do, I'll be sure and ask for the schools. I don't need the schools (well, I've never done any rallying, so that would be kinda cool), but it would be a major plus, for those who have never been to a school, to be able to attend one!
well, i bought the EVO on labor day weekend and I dont think its just a CA thing.
I asked that lady if Mitsu is going to call all evo owners and she said yes, all evo and endeavor (yarn!) owners.
I gave 5 for all the performance parts and a 2 for the Satilite Radio
Tell you the truth I dont mind paying a small fee, perhaps 4 or 5 hundred dollars if Mitsu offers Rally/driving School in my area. I dont know about you guys but I think we all can enjoy our EVOs more if we have some professional instructions....
I think Lexus had something like that, it was like $400 for a weekend of lessons in a provided GS...

I hope it's not the same one where the lady called me and asked "so how do you like your Lancer?". I corrected her and said "Lancer Evolution". She continued asking questions the whole time referring to it as a Lancer. Not that I have anything against the Lancer but I thought the company really distinguished the 2 cars from each other especially since it is a seperate vehicle on their site and about all other sites. Maybe she just read lancer in the title and gave me the wrong survey
.
btw....I'm not joking this really happened....

Well I'm not sure why they would ask you if you prefer to have the AYC/ACD, since we've never had them here before?! How do you actually know that you prefer it? I know a lot of Rally drivers down here (from the islands) and they ALL prefer NOT to have the AYC/ACD..! Believe that! They lock the rear diff and take off from there.. They said that they like it raw... But, I would certainly like to have the anti-lag system and front LSD in our EVO's.. My .02
P.S., I've had my EVO since March 11th and no survey call...

Here's an idea. Ask potential buyers what else they want in order to become buyers?
The people I know are not in a position to go out and sell their evos to buy a newer evo. Does Mitsu think current owners would quickly purchase or switch to a newer evo so soon? Or is this all for 2-3 year down the road changes?
Why don't they have something like this at the dealerships that we can fill out and give them so they can tally up what they need to do to turn potential sales into sales?
I am holding off for a a sequential manual transmission. 6 speed would be nice too. For a second family hauler with straight off the road onto the track capabilities, the evo fits the bill. All the additional driveline stuff or even more power is not my highest priority. I can get all that stuff aftermarket already. I want to see some options that are not available anywhere.
Everyonere is different, but I plan to use an evo as a fourth car to haul the family around town in and has the ability on Fridays on the way home and weekends can stop by the track and run a few hot laps. The ZX3 will remain the primary commuter vehicle, the Tribute long distance and comfortable family transport, and the MR2 Turbo the too expensive to maintain fuel and tires ride for. The ZX3 and MR2 are not practical, but both fun, one with 30mpg, the other with closer to 3. The tribute and and ZX3 are great for hauling stuff, but who cares what happens to the ZX3 while hauling anything, its a great carefree do anything with beater that can be keyed, kicked, off roaded, take to the race track for some laps, and all be unconcerned about.
When using an evo as a ride to and from the office, It is nice to have a tall 6th gear for gas mileage and a little less noise. Plus sequential manual transmission can be set up to act as automatics. You get the best and more than anything available. Set a mode to shift at 3500rpm and you have a fast autmatic. Flip a switch to autmatically upshift for you and you have a drag racer you don't even have to think about or pay attention to, aka Enzo. Flip a switch to have it hold gears until you grab a paddle shifter and you have complete control, minus no mistakes like over revving on downshifts.
More power is easily enough achieved with very little expense with aftermarket parts. Racing schools, whether road, rally, or drag are everywhere already and having them cost more becuase some corporate
emblem is associated with them doesn't appeal to me.
Well this is long enough.. Time to go the track..
Happy Fourth of July. Hope to see some DFW people out at the Sportbike Hype event on the infield of Texas Motor Speedway Sunday!
