I have used Electromotive Tec2 and TEC3 units for the past 8 years, none of which were on a Evo or any other DSM. Electromotive does not offer any type of a plug and play for any car and I am not aware of any company that makes a harnass for the Evo either. Electromotive has some good features like it provides its own DFU's so you don't need a ignition solution, provides a crank trigger solution, "says" it is capable of running full sequential injection, etc. all of these being important for someone that is turning a NA car or uncommonly boosted car to make big power. All of this is of zero use to Evo owners. The bad: some of the most quirky software I have ever used. I remember having to reload adjustments twice just to make small changes to UAP and POT values because for some reason changing them in WinTec live tuning mode did not always take effect. The customer support is crap. The support is very knowledgable, but would never admit there software had problems. Hardware wise, TEC 3 is probably one the most solid systems out there for the money but not something a beginner can just buy throw on the car and run. But Evo owners have the luxury of P&P systems and you can thank your lucky stars for that because I thought many of times I wanted to shoot myself trying to wire cars from scratch . But all of that crap taught me alot so I guess I would only take alittle of it back . Sorry for the rant, just always wanted to vent about Electromotive EMS's lol.

Yeah at the shop I work at we have 5 cars running electromotive tec3r units. One in a 400+ miata, 400+ 280z, 2 700hp srt's, and our shop srt that we're gunning for 1000hp w/spray on. We have a 2 wheel dyno but plan on upgrading to an awd dyno pretty soon and expanding into the awd market. We are building a rally STi right now for a customer from the islands and waiting to see if he wants to do the electromotive unit. We've had lots of success with the electromotive units. I wanted to see how many evo's, if any, were running it and how they liked it. Electromotive is not very popular like other units available so i figured the users on here would be limited. Anyways thanks for the input sir. Very informative. Just trying to do a little research. thanks again

No problem at all. I made deep into the 6XXwhp with a Tec 3 unit and know of many more that made as much or more power so it is VERY capable. And even though the software is skeptical the tuning scheme and layout is very good, the startup wizard gets you a map that at least you can start the car and has a generous amount of GPO's to program to do what you wish.
