Yes, it will be easier for you to just remove the front bumper (trust me, it's WAY easier than you think). After you're done with it the first time, you'll see that as soon as you remove the pop rivets for the undertray, it's only a 5 minute job. The badge should be a no-brainer from there. Just remember that there's an indention/hole in the mesh under the emblem --- you might want to hide that somehow.

Good luck!

To remove the "Lancer Evolution" badge, just use some fishing line and run it behind the badge slowly. If there is any stickiness afterwards, just use some wax and it'll come off with some rubbing. That was my first mod to my car the day I brought it home.

i was gonna ditch my badge completely but after taking it off and having that bracket there i just decided to flat black it. If i really wanted to i could have cut the bracket off bu i just dont wanna start hacking up my 30k car. The bumper is def a little intimidating at first but once you find out you dont have to take the whole undertray off its cake.

No actually I did read his post, but just misread it. I guess I read the first sentence too fast. Oh well...

^ Yeah, I'd leave it. Personally, I think the front end looks a little odd without the emblem. It usually looks best if a grille is debadged when it's a framed grill, like how some Impreza and Civic grille replacements are.

You can remove the front emblem whenever you take off the bumper to install a LICP =P

I tried the fishing line method, it kinda worked, but that glue stays on there. I had to use tar remover to get it all off.

I did it when the car had sat in the sun for a while and did it VERY slowly. I didn't have hardly any stickiness to take off.
