broken mbc?
first of all i did a search on this and nada, ok prob is i somehow by mistake took my car up to 8,000 to 8500 with a misshift. Car is still running perfectly strong. But the boost gauge is reading well over 1.5. Mine was around 1.6 (23psi) before this happened. Now if get on it the needle keeps going way way past that. Already put the boost controller the lowest it can be and is still not controlling the boost which goes up without limit. May the spring in it be the prob?

bump just cheked the vacum lines from the turbo to the mbc and the one from the wastegate to the mbc both are fine and atached. A Buddy of mine thinks is some rod of the wastegate that came of but i can see so deep since its night time
Bump makes the thread go up to the top of the forum listing in Evo General... Normally so that more people will see it.
And i am not sure about your problem. Sorry i wish i could help

well hes boosting 23psi normally so he prolly has some sort of tune wich could increase his rev limit. but im not supper sure about the boost problem but i would say somthing about the spring inside. might be worth it to get another one anyways. there not that expensive.

i didnt rev to 8500 i downshifted to 4 gear at 80mph something that shouldnt cause this high rev but had the foot a lil bit on the gas and while i was downshifting dont even know why i did this i have had this car for almost a year. It has a forge mbc and the rev limiter is set to 7500. Im gonna open the mbc now and check it out

good advice will do, yep i know i cant be pushing the car cause high boost is lethal i was suggested in another forum to do a compression test on the car but i dont think that has to do with having high boost
Cangriracing, Disassemble your Forge MBC, clean it with some brake cleaner and reinstall it. It sounds like the check ball is sticking (it just happens some times) As long as all the other vacuum lines check out, and you dont have a boost leak, that is.
