There was a thread just like this one. Which car to buy a clean title or a salvaged title. Your book value isnt the same with a salvaged title. Let alone your car will never "feel" right knowing it was totalled. Go for a clean titled car. Unless it is 100% repaired for a steal and you bring it to a body shop that has a digital frame machine. Then they can hook up the machine and see if your "points" are in factory specs. Thats the only way I would consider buying a salvaged titled evo.

Listen to me on this clearly.

All my previous cars have been wrecked/salvaged title cars.

Mark my words "Once a wrecked car, ALWAYS a wrecked car"
never fails

already mentioned (kinda) but i would worry about the cars frame being "off". I had an STI that was in a serious accident and when it was fixed it never quite did handle the same.

i think it might be ok, except for maybe the passenger front fender which may have tweaked the frame a little. like sikrsix said have it checked out if possible before you pick it up. id almost say buy it for $10k and part it out and you might make some money off the whole thing.

I would rather have that peace of mind that the car has never been in an accident. I vote clean title.

I know you want an Evo, but don't be desperate. Stay away from salvaged/totalled cars. They're terrible money pits. Be mindful that the car's integrity has been severly compromised. Move on and forget.

also you have to see who is going to give you a loan if you dont have cash in hand for a salvage title. Sometimes its a little tricky

Oh, yeah, "salvage title" and "damaged slightly" don't belong in the same sentence. Snap out of it and get real.

You newer know what was possibly done to this car. That was my thread about which car to go with clear or salvage and I decided to go with clear. And one more thing sometimes people buying salvaged cars repair it a liitle bit to look like it was slightly damaged and then sell it like slightly damaged. You got the car, brought it to the bodyshop and they telling you whole different story that you will need twice more money to fix it then you thought from the beginning. PLUS You will newer get salvaged 06 evo for 10k with lite damage.
