Installed a Roll Bar....Homemade....
Long story short I was going to purchase an Auto Power roll bar for my car and I got to thinking that my friend could easily replicate the Auto Power unit for a 1/3rd of the cost. He and I built a cage for my Spec Miata about 9 months ago, this was a full weld in 6 point cage. So a 4 point bolt-in must be easy
It took us two night to build and roughly $140 in materials ( I still have 20 ft in material left). I went with 1.75 DOM tubing. All the bars were TIG welded aswell. The roll bar doesn't have a harness bar yet....I am debating whether or not I want one.
It is going to be pulled out in a couple of weeks and painted (my friend also paints on the side). So here you go. I imagine there will be some interesting comments. The roll bar debate always creates arguments. Fight nicely please.
My Miata for reference.

Ya they are pretty easy to make, I was a welder in the navy and me a buddy made one for his POS on the ship. Plus a chopper frame so as long as you can weld (tig) good and can use a tape and some common sense they are easy to make. now get it powder coated pink and you will be Blingin.
All of our material was free Thanks to Uncle Sam and the US Navy.
