6-speed shifter bushings

i am about to order my shifter bushings but i have a few questions. i dont know weather i should go with the ams bushings or buschurs. and i have heard people saying somthin about that you should also get the base bushings too.(i think it is called a base bushing but not sure lol).but whatever its called where can i get those from buschur? ams?. as for the regular shifter bushings from the pictures both buschurs and ams's look the same. but tell me what you guys think about both things. thanks a lot, your info is always greatly appreciated.

I would recommend the lancershop.com ones from speedsource, that is all. Cheaper and very quality. I have them on my 5 speed and like it! Unless you want to spend AMS or BR $$$ for them, I would say just get these.

Not sure what about the reference to "base bushing" but I put the BRs on my MR...shifting feels far more precise. For $35, this upgrade is one of those simple improvements that increases driving pleasure. Don't forget the anti-seize--I used a little graphite for the install.

I'm sure AMS makes a quality bushing as well but I tend to look to BR first for parts.

no need to overpay for something for the name sake, unless you want to, most are all the same for the evo's. The speedsource ones are brass, not sure about the AMS BR ones, but metal is metal. IMO

hard meaning...hard to get into? Could be a bigger prob in your case, need more info to maybe diagnose over the interwebz. GM syncromesh, bushings...could be a fix, but kind of hard to say...?

It is best to adjust the clutch pedal as per factory specs.

Stay away from BR. Just got mine yesterday & the small one did not fit right. I had to drill it out to make it fit. I heard a few that had the same problem. I could have done the install within 15 minutes but took me an hour due to the extra drilling. Also it cost me $9.00 for shipping through Nick which seems high so I pm'd Jarrod & quoted me $7.00 for shipping. I did not bother sending it back or complain about the difference in shipping cause it is not worth the time. I should have bought one from AMS & would have cost me less & might have fit better as well.

Not suprising. So its AMS or Lancershop.com Speedsource bushings.

i had good experience and bad w/ shift bushings. i bought kartboy two times, one for my 03 evo awhile back and another for my 06 evo9. the shift base ones were crap, they were WAY too big and i had to shave all 4 to make them fit. i had metal ones for the shift linkages and never seized on me although i was always afraid the lubricant would 'dry' or get used up and seize one day.

now i have kartboy shift base and linkage all around, polyurethane. shifts solid and although theres a slight give still, i think it also makes it smoother too. personally i would go w/ poly all around.

as for kartboy, i would avoid it... personal experience is fitment is 50%... either they fit perfect or go fit a blade and get to work lol
