Wow, that was a worthless post. You say your so old, then start acting like it. I know 15 year olds with more maturity. It bad when you have to state your age to compensate for the lack pure knowledge.

Getting back on topic. There are alot of good filters out there but I only use the oem filter. I've been using them since I had my 1995 GST. Don't want to screw up a good thing.

cracked oil filter

I had a k&n filter and while pushing it, I think a rock flew and caused a crack in it. has anybody ever had this problem. Oil just started leaking everywhere. Damn. Hate where they placed the oil filter.

I have been driving Mitsu's powered by the 4g63 since 1992 and I have yet to use a replacement washer. No leaks. So, here is one course you might follow to solve the after market oil filter washer problem.

Although I don't have a bias on the type of filter, their all not the same.. less restriction may also mean less filtration, either because they have less filtration or a bypass valve.

I did want to add that I just had an oil filter get damaged by something hitting it while driving. I would definitely recommend against putting anything on there that hangs down any lower than the stock one.

Malibujack, which brand filter do you normally use? OEM or some 3rd party?

OE, I've had some bad experiences with aftermarket filters over the years, nothing really worth noting, but OE is OE for a reason.
