I like the Purolator Pure One mainly because the store I frequent keeps them in stock although they are supposed to be one of the better oil filters. I use the filter that fits a Dodge Stealth (a Mitsubishi for anybody who doesn't know). It is fatter but shorter than the Evo filter. I can put the full five quarts of oil in my car when using this filter and it brings the level on the dip stick to exactly full. Plus it leaves no 5 quart jug on my workbench with a dab of oil in it.

I saw an add a while back about a lifetime warenty filter. You had to kleen it like a k&n air filter. It wasn't cheap either. Anyone ever heard of or seen anything like that?

I have been using the Purolator Pure One on my DSM's and now EVO. Never had a problem with them and they do have an anti drainback valve.

easy there, I always use OEM filter. AW course you wont run into a problem with other filters... I still prefer oem, and mobil 1 - 10w30 oil.

While youre at it go change your EVO's diff fluid with any ol' generic brand too.

Noobs got some rage goin on there. lol *******

This site has been around for a while and I'm not sure how updated it hasn't been updated since 2003 but I assume that oil filter industry hasn't made a giant leaps since then so i think it's still valid. It has pretty good information on many oil filters that you wouldn't find on the box.
