Wow, so much drama, and it's only the 2nd page
I got hks 272 and they idle almost like stock. 845 rpm. 1000 injectors. stock ecu. so, yeah...that's the idle thing.
People use HKS 272 cause they are run of the mill cam, that's been around since 2003 or longer. S1's just came out, what, 3 months ago?..
I personally want 280's now. I want lumpy idle and more top end. If you want torque down low on a stock turbo - just turn the boost up.
Also asking questions like these on EvoM General Forum will not get you any answers. Just a bunch of "272 are better" "s1's are better". Do a freaking search with some dyno graphs.

I agree he should search and I agree w/ some of your other comments, but the gsc s1's have been out for awhile, they have a new revised version, which make better power, so people are just hearing and seeing more of them being spoken about, that is all...

hks is ok, but that link shows you hands down that the gsc's make more power. I dont understand how some people are so blind and ignorant. If you want hks, buy hks, but if there is a review on them and it clearly shows the facts, then take it for what it is. I know a 1000+hp evo on this board that switched to gsc and made 70 more whp(along w/ some tuning), are you freaking kidding me? That is amazing! Anyway you make the call. That is all...

GSC definately builds quality parts...everything they manufacture is on my car already...except for their stroker kit which is being ordered soon...

Its all gravy baby, Alot of people didnt start hearing about them until they released their new series, b/c the other ones were good, but were their first attempt I believe making cams, I could be wrong about that thought too.
Sidenote:
Looks like alot of people are starting to chime in about their s1 & s2 install and power gains...keep 'em coming guys...

I have the new S1's on my 06 IX MR and i like them alot.
I gained 50+whp and the same gain in torque with the S1 cams @ 23 psi...
I went from 298 whp to 347+ whp, with cams and new tune, thats it.
As far as which one is better, that remains to be seen.
I'd vote GSC..
It would be nice if someone did a comprehensive test on all the cams on same car with dyno sheets, just to see.
Go with whatever you feel is best, it's your car.
Just my .02 on GSC S1's
