lawsuit in process
#1 Absolutely not. I would probably offer 8K for it.
#1b I would gut the car, sell the parts that are worth anything (engine, seats etc.) and either start from scratch or sell the chassis.
#2 You mentioned that the clutch was slipping before the car was towed. My stock clutch went out at 14K miles (ACT now has 45K w/ SS clutch line) so I can testify to the flawed restrictor pill set up causing premature clutch wear.
#2b If the rear wheels were dragging, the car was either in gear and/or the ebrake was engaged. Do you usually put the car in gear when parking or just use the ebrake? I know that my car will move with the ebrake activated so it leads me to believe that the car was at least in gear. How would the tow truck driver put your car in gear without the keys? The heat from the TC would not have caused a fire.
#3 Not sure about this one. If the TC was blown, the rear tires should rotate normally on the axle, the only thing that could keep them dragging would be the ebrake or possibly a locked TC?
#4 I would say that your rotors have brake pad deposits on them and/or the tires/wheels are not balanced. It could also be a bent axle or something similar if this is after the rear end collision. I flat spotted all four of my tires (no ABS) and the car had crazy vibration until I changed them out. Once I replaced my rotors and pads and bed them in correctly my braking vibration went away.

yea, so good that they are gonna raise your rates because you made a claim....

His car is ****ed due to tow
I dun see anything wrong with mitsu for trying to fix ur wrecko ,
insurance should have totaled ur car since it is officially caught fire and FD was called to proof

Who are you planning on filing suit on? Hopefully the tow company. The original owner had no part in what happened and neither did Mitsubishi. Good luck, best choice would be to contact your insurance co and file an addendum repair to your existing claim. How long ago was all of this?
this is the longest post ever!,
First of all why would you take your car from towing company if you knew your case was done? I would leave the car there, and file a police report and go from there... than talk to lawyers. Now it will take alot of your time and efford to clean **** up...
Second, Im not sure what mitsu did, could be bad install, I wouldnt let them to tight a bolt on my car.

wait, so what exactly does your ebrake do?!? release the parachutte?!
I'd say get a good lawyer and let him worry about everything. If you name all the parties that had your car as defendants, they could themselves figure out who was responsible for what (cross claim, set offs etc.). Try to find a lawyer that will work on contingency basis (prob be hard because there are so many things going on) but he wont collect until you collect. Your questions are too vague to ask everyone here because 1. they cant diagnose a problem without seeing/feeling your car and 2. your writing is very hard to follow. Maybe try spell check or have someone with a better writing skills.
To the OP good luck, but so much time passed between incidents it's going to be a pain to tie it all together good luck though. To me it seems some better decisions could have been made throughout the process.
