Light on = gas in. Don't go longer than you have to.

And you're all chickens, I ran out twice on track Beat that... After that, my fuel pump was a little louder, but didn't cause any problems.

Typically if i fill up right when the light comes on, I end up putting in roughly 11.8 gallons, so that leaves about 2 gallons, assuming that Mitsubishi's provided specs are accurate. However, I once read the specs for the Evo but for a different country, and I converted the fuel capacity in liters U.S. gallons, it was actually a bit more (closer to 14.5), so that might explain why some people on here have gone as far as they did with the low fuel indicator on.

That being said, it's not common for me to wait until the light comes on, but I usually try to fill up as soon as I see it, with the farthest I ever drove with the light on being just under 20 miles, though typically I'll fill up within the next couple of miles.
