doesn't seem like it set up right. the rpm should drop below red line between shift.

when i set up full throttle shift on my honda, i set the FTS at a lower rmp than the actual red line rev limiter. as soon as you press the clutch pedal, the rpm will drop to a preset point and bounce. this will allow the rpm to drop to the right place when you shift to the next gear but will also allow you to keep the TB open so you don't get boost lag between shift.

he just has to fine tune it.... the way this patch works is you set a speed in which you want the NLTS engaged and then you set a throttle position you want it to fall back to as well as how many RPM's.... Id say he has his TP said a bit too high, probably at like 97 or so maybe 95, and his RPM drop to 1000.... mine is set 95 and 1500, but i will probably change mine a bit to maybe 2k or so, but also, when i shift at the track, i shift at 68 or so, not 72 or 73..... its like anything else, fine tune it order to get the best results.

So if you were to do this on an Evo without this ECU mod, what would happen differently?

without the ecu mod, it is like the first part of the video, RPM's rise, dont exactly fall to where you want them to and you dont hold boost. I always have no lift shifted from 3rd to 4th on the track, but you previously lost boost, now you dont and can do it all gears without the shock on the drivetrain

^ So from what you're saying, the mod will:

* Hold boost better than power-shifting without the mod
* Hold rpms better than power-shifting without the mod
* Lessen the shock on the drivetrain

If this is right, what is happening that makes it less threatening to the drivetrain?

Sweet! My next question would be if 4TUN8 is willing to share his settings? Hell I may just look to pay someone to patch my ROM... I just don't have the time to research everything right now

Edit: Actually it has the KnockCel feature which I just added to my ROM... It was a PITA copying all the tables but this feature includes that and more so woot! It will be worth it to go through the process again.

I'd still like to see your settings

honestly there isnt much research to do.... just do what the first post tells you to.... then about page 8 for me, so post 160 or so people started posting their settings. You will be fine. It took me about 15 minutes to copy everything over and i have a lot of changes to my rom.... i bet i'd be done with an VIII rom in less than 10 minutes at most

I hold a good bit of boost now with my quick ninja shifts... but this would be way more consistent.

After actually reading it looks pretty easy with a little trial and error.

I guess I'm still a little in the dark here. I NLS at the track and my rpms usually fall around the same (5.5 - 6k) and my boost never drops below 15psi. This seems like the results that are shown in the video.

watch the first part of the video his boost gauge is zero'ing out. but then again he might not be shifting as fast.
