Need to replace my test pipe.

She is going through emissions sometime in the beginning of October. I have a fulll Turbo XS ti turbo back with test pipe, and am quite sure she wont pass. I still have my stock Evo 8 exhaust which brings me to this question: Can I just replace my test pipe with the stock catalyc converter? Do I have to take the whole exhaust down or can I just unbolt the test pipe piece and bolt on the Catalyc? Is it difficult?

First do you guys have inspection in CT?

IF so, swtiching out the test pipe with a stock cat shouldn't be all that difficult. Just unbolt and switch in the stocker.

id say go to your local tuning shop and ask them if the o.e.m cat can bolt up to your exaust. othor wise just buy a new cat. theres nothing werse than failing emissions. but my buddy knows of a solution that you put into ur tank and it cleans it out, and youll be able to pass any emmisions tes without a problem.

ill talk to him later and post what he tells me

Cat

Does your test pipe have resonator? When I got my car inspected, I had the ttp resonated cat on and for some reason they thought it was a hfc. They must've been new...

Find a stock exhaust and put her back on...I believe they will even cite you for an aftermarket DP

Yes you can use the stock Catalytic converter. I installed My exhaust with a 3 inch down pipe today took the stuff off the stock CAT. but to answer your question it bolts right up. Have some one help you though for it is a biotch to do.
