The Whats Wrong With Your Evo Thread
1. Heater control knob stiff as hell. Have to rotate the white gear under the dash for climate control. Tried moving it back and fourth all day to loosen it. Didn't work.
2. Mysterious fuel guage problem with the floaters in the tank. they both pivot fine but I get an effed off reading for fuel.
For those of you who have fading brembos they are a cakewalk to fix. Seriously.
Just clean the calipers with brake cleaner then soapy water. Get some masking tape and cover the brembo decal on the caliper and use a razor to trim around it. Use 800 grit sandpaper and get all the loose clearcoat off. Wash off with a wet sponge. Dry them, and spray 3 coats of your choice of red. Wait 15 minutes in between coats. Peel off masking tape over the brembo decal. Spray clear coat over the caliper 3 times. 15 minutes in between coats. Oh yeah, make sure you mask off the rotors and around the fender trim.

Tarmac Black so hard to keep clean in the desert, and I hate seeing my evo dirty. A/C seems it doesnt blow hard enough, and gas light coming on only after 180 miles, not even in boost.
wing clearcoat is fading, a good bit of paint missing off the rear bumper from a parkinglot hit n run, 3-4 good sized door dings on the passenger side front and rear doors, curb rash on both the summer and winter rims, brakes are starting to go.

Mine hurts my neck anytime I put it to the floor, the 650 whp also tear up the tires when I accelerate. It also handles so well with the suspension and alignment that are on it that it wants to lift the rear tires off the ground in the corners and that makes my neck hurt too. Then with the upgraded pads and rotors the stopping.........yeah, you guessed, hurts my neck too. At first I thought I was just getting old and out of shape but then I took my uncle for a ride and after I hurt him accelerating I showed him the brakes and didn't realize he wasn't wearing a seat belt, so he ended up smashed into the dash and wadded up on the floor, so he didn't like it much either...............damn EVO
that's the only sarcastic "what's wrong with your evo" post i've read so far...
rock chips galore..black car in nh = destroyed hood and front bumper.. my tranny sounds like it has a bunch of rocks tumbling around in it.. i need a hearing aid now from the exhaust

huge door ding on the passenger side....looks like someone did it on purpose cuz its really bad, brembos fading, the plastic in the back of the driver's seat has a crack in it, and for some reason instead of spending money on fixing those things, I find myself spending money on mods....damn car.......

brownbos, crack in the drivers seat back, peppered front end.. My wing was replaced under warranty. I've fixed everything else, shep t-case, stoptech rotors, ACT, windshield, wheels, the list goes on...
