If hes going through his insurance and the body shop can work something out with the insurance adjuster than why not!

If it needs to be replaced anyways they shouldn't really have a problem. All depends on the shop owner/manager and how he feels oem part replacements in relationship to the guarantee of workmanhip.

I had to take my car in to get the 3rd and 5th gear synchros replaced, so I used that as an opportunity to replace my clutch and all the other parts in my sig. They had to remove everything but the intercooler anyway so it wasn't a problem at all. This was all done at my local Mitsubishi dealer, by the way and my car only had like 6,000 miles on it.

My friend knew one of the mechanics that works there and he would put my friends parts on his Evo and '04 Cobra. He said it would be easier to put that stuff on anyway and it wasn't going to affect my warranty. I lucked out on that actually. The dealer would've charged about $1,000 for labor just to replace my clutch.

yeah the body shop would probably do that being they have to replace anyway and then he can use ins. money to replace and probably walk away with a few bucks
