Thought some of you might find this interesting. Don't ask how or why but we have a real full Carbon Fiber WRC wing from Mitsu's last factory backed WRC effort.
Developed in Europe by SPA Composites for Mitsubishi. All I can say is holy downforce!!!!!
It weighs in at a scant 5 lbs and is stronger than any other wing I have ever seen.
Price is, well, if you have to ask you probably can't afford it. Only a mind boggling $11,000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$11000... i dont know how they justify that price.
Because you can buy a 600 hp eclipse gsx for that money. Or you can change almost the whole car out, to carbon fiber.

I dont think you know how long it takes to make one. Thats why it so costly. Plus all the R&D that went into it.
Because it is real autoclaved carbon work with real aerodynamic testing, not some half *** wet layup on top of fiberglass like 99% of aftermarket crap and some guy guessing it will make down force.
i dont care if it looks hideous id still put it on my car...if i had that kind of cash to throw around :P
but seriously, if the replicas are extremley close in design, and not just for looks then id consider one for the rally car

im one to say a good balance between functionality and looks is what im into it. this is TOO in the left field, while a underbody neon lights are too into right field... get my meaning?
Well you can go for looks but if you rally your car and have rules similar to what drove the production of this wing then I would go for function. I agree with the post on a previous page about the design being rule driven. For the money a large wing that is high and further back will get you better rear downforce results. One good thing of this wing though is since its location is closer to the rear axle it will cause less lift on the nose than a huge wing that is farther aft so that means less up front to balance out the aero on the car.
I would be stoked if I saw it on the street. But I am a WRC fan so I'm out of the ordinary.
I'll be down for the replica when my warranty expires (I'm still stock) and I turn her into a rally machine.

a copy would be nice, but maybe you could do a few mock-ups of a stock mounted piece, that incorporated a bit of that design.
but when I realize the stock wing pretty much kills the rear end lift I wonder how necessary it would be.
I logged rear suspension travel on an evo 8 with just a rear bumper cut, (looks like a jdm 9 from a long ways away), no rear rise as I ran down the straight away.
Of course a little more down wouldn't hurt in the corners.

I just got a G2X pro I'm going to start playing around with. Nothing too sophisticated but fun.
If you want a little more rear down try putting a 1/4-1/2" gurney flap (wickerbill) on the rear wing. That will probably make a bigger difference than WRC wing.
