Congrats on the Evo VII purchases guys!

Karl, can you clear up the French Blue color issue? Is it the bright blue color or the Navy blue? Either way, great choice and enjoy

Thanks Mark.

I believe it is the navy blue, closely resembling the Evo7 GSR in Gran Turismo 3. But no better way for me to find out in a month when I get my car :-) In any case, I know the car will look good
As I said, I will post pics as soon as I see it, I am sure you guys are dying to know about the french blue issue

What's the water injection thing? never head of it. can you shed some light?

thx

It is a way for getting our cars designed to run on 98 RON European gas to run well on CA 91 (RON+MON)/2 gas.

I would be running a mixture of water and methanol.

erikgj,

I have been running alcohol injection on the street. Works well but it kills o2 sensors fast. A better solution would be to find a local 76 gas station that sells 100 unleaded. Try www.76.com to find stations that sell it in your area. You could safely turn up the boost a couple more psi as well.

To "MR.MITSU"

Nope, "Rhys" Millen is in Huntington Beach, CA. He did live in New Zealand for a while.

That's where the "Millen" shops are for the race teams.

We have one close to me that sells 100+ octane. But this will be a daily driver so $3 - $4 a gallon race gas is not practical for me. Do you use straight methanol?

and yes he does have a VII. It didn't finish in the first rally they ran it in. Where was it, maybe the Sno-Drift, not sure. There were 6 Evo VII's in the US, all imported strictly for racing, as of January, probalby a handfew more now.

I'm sure there have been many Evo's imported, but only thru independent importers. Now it's going to be a full factory car sold thru the Mitsu dealers. You can bet they will hike up the price from sticker just like they did with the GT VR-4 when it came out in 1991.

In 2004 they may even have a 2-door version of the Lancer or Evo. Haven't heard the final word on that yet.

But didn't Rhys Millen move to the Subaru team after last season ? Or am I thinking of someone else ?

You're thinking of Tommi Makinen maybe?

I don't follow the SCCA too much so I don't know if Rhyns Millen moved but, I do know Tommy Makinen in the WRC moved to Scooby. He's still my favorite driver though.

Hey Mike,

I believe french blue is the darker blue, as found at:

Oh and Mike, the pictures posted on the site you mentioned are very much color distorted. Whoever took those pictures increased the contrast heavily, thereby lightening up the blue. It looks WAY too bright to be real. Look at the floor, other cars, minivan behind that looks red, etc... you'll get the point.

Thumbs up

Karl & Erik,

I too am one of the lucky ones with a EVO7 in a create on the way. What color is your Erik? I was looking for white, but my wife likes the french blue like Karl is getting, so there will 2 French blue Evo7's. 1 on the West coast and 1 on the East coast. :headbng2: I chose to stay with the standard Motec M4 unit. I will never put 8 injectors on the car, so I dont see a need for it, plus 3k for it. It does everything the the m48 does, plus some.

Anyways, thats only 3 people that I know of.
