You said you should be receiving your car by late April or early May........so what happened It is now may 9th you should have already have it in your garage Or did you get an excusefrom EI saying that it has been delayed another three months in negotiations

1st off, I never said such a thing. I've always said that the car will ARRIVE in SoCal around late april early may. As everything in life, this has been delayed, and last time I heard (2 days ago), we're still on for late may arrival, which E.I. assured me this will not delay the final PICK-UP date (which is set around late august-mid september).

2nd of all, I am not sure I like your tone of writing, very condescending, and full of unfounded assumptions.

K.

By the way, did EI have financing available or do you pay cash?

Cool Sorry if I came across to you that way....wasn't my intention.

But I have a friend who was sold the same dream last year, supposedly he was suppose to receive it same time last year, with a chance to see the car in person at a Florida track test soon after he placed an order. But anyhow....that is why, my last message was full of doubt I really hope you get your car. But I hate to know you may be taken for a ride. But then again I am sure you are confident in EI promise. So I shall leave it at that.

(ps) I forgot to + they ask the money up front, before delivery

The White EVO VII in Boulder, CO is an RS version, LHD. The owner's name is Ron something or other, he races it in SCCA. There's a post about it in the Mid-West Forum under Colorado Owners. I've personally seen the car up close, it's gutted with a full rollbar, etc.. It's no street queen...

Ok...what are the specs that EI imports have? I've heard rumors the US version will be faster cause Japan has HP limits, etc. Will these cars be better than will sell?

Guys, it's almost July now... are the cars here yet?? I am tempted to do business with EI. However, gathering from all the postings I have read, I really think EI might be taking ppl for a ride here. Can someone say something positive about EI here or otherwise tell me they are just full of it. Thanks.

inflectionpt,

I replied to your same post on another thread, forgot which one (I think it was titled "$30,000 for an Evo Makinen Edition).
Check there

Bottom line: the cars are about a week away from docking in CA, and another week for clearing customs. They should be in the shop around the 12th. I'll post pics then.

How'd you get the Evo V in? I'm seriously thinking of letting go of my Impreza for it. Thanks.

Question EVO V or VI

Yes I too would be very interested to know what people did to get an EVO V or VI into the US. I've looked into it and it seems like paying an RI or ICI ends up being impractical.

Any info on the subject would be great.

inflectionpt,

yes more news from E.I.

because of a huge backlog in customs, the cars have been there for almost 3 weeks.

They are being released from customs on friday, and shipped (trucked) to shop that day. I am meeting Adam on monday (29th, a week away) to see the cars, along with Erik (erikgj)

So again, barring UNFORSEEN PROBLEMS (this time, unlikely, since customs gave the friday release date almost 2 weeks ago), pictures will be taken next monday and posted on the forums soon thereafter.

Customs is just trying to decide how to SLICE your car: front to back or side to side.

Seriously, though I'm looking forward to those pics and hearing your impressions of the car.
