Car running extremely rich just in stalled WB o2 censor just ruined it trying it ?
I just finished installing the wideband and i think that because my car is running extremely rich i just ruined the o2 censor on the first time starting it trying to log for the first time. Am i right or is there something anyone might know of as to why my computer wont read the Innovative LC-1 Wideband o2 censor. It was all installed by me soldiering all wires up to installing the supplied bung in the down pipe, and dont forget the led and calibration button. Which i did calibrate it seemed to work my autometer air fuel ratio gauge showed it was running extremely lean in open air. I got the o2 censor installed and connected to the computer via a adapter for the supplied serial port seeing my laptop doesnt have one. Then when i started the car for the first time and going to start the logger it went to install something but it canceled its self saying an error about not reading the serial port or something not sure ill post it up in the morning late night as it is.
the cables coming from the LC1 can be a little fiddly make sure they are completely pushed tight. and check for correct port.
you will not have destroyed the sensor from a short period of time. maybe more like a week or two it that quick.
the sensor should read 20.7 in a free air calibration. yeah that is pretty lean.

Ok cool thanks i thought it might be junk already because my car is definitely running rich. I just thought with the new intake manifold and throttle body it would be lean.
