Need Help ASAP!@!!

I took my car into the dealership carriage mitsu. went thru alot of **** because they didn't wanna replace my 5th sycros or my spoiler even though the car is 100% under warranty and i have like a year left. I finally got them to take a ALOOK AT IT and see if they would be able to cover it under warranty. so they pulled it in the shop took two days and gave me a call, sayn its my stock clutch that is not engaging properly.

The stock clutch just started slipping.../ engaging late.....
They are asking me to pay 700 dollars to replace the stock clutch so that the tranny won't grind anymore....stating its not the syrco's its the clutch....

1. What should my next step be?
2. can anyone explain to me why a stock clutch should cause tranny grinding?
3. and if its the clutches prob shouldn't that be under mitsu warranty because its not like i installed that clutch, i understand its wear and tear....

4. any insight (thanks Evoryder) should come and spell check my english papers Evorider) would help

I don't want to have to pay 700 dollars for something that should be under warranty....

if your clutch is slipping why are you trying to get mitsu to get you a new one? You want new tires too when your advans go? Warrantied? ...what planet are you on? How many miles on the evo...i'm guessing more than 10k. You're wasting your time with this thread and your request if you're over 10k.

Please take it somewhere else! I bought my used Evo there, and a week later had 2 synchros replaced by another dealer. Plus the balance shaft was out of wack. AND....they said it was stock, but it had cams. They were of no help when I was having problems. Carriage Mitsu sucks.

Your statement is a little confusing.

" but now the issue is that its my clutch and not my tranny????? does that make any sense? its a stock clutch why is it still grinding? and why do i have to pay 700 dollars to replace the stock clutch, when it just started slipping maybe slipping like it releases late not even slipping"

Can you explain it a little bit clearer.

The clutch is a "wearable item" it states that in the owners manual so there isnt a chance in the world that they will replace it for you. Is the tranny still grinding in the same gear that they fixed?

sorry that everyone miss understood what i wrote was typing in a hurry, They never fixed the tranny because they are blaming it on my stock clutch.... that the clutch is not engaging enough for the 5th gear to smoothly go in... but its only when shifting fast, when shifting slow it goes in perfectly fine which seems like a sycro problem to me

Save your $ for a new stocker or better yet a twin to last longer and then get them to fix the syncros and put the new clutch in while everything is out. They shouldnt blame it on the clutch but you are takin it to the stealership so thats what you are going to get. They are probably going to say that you didnt replace the clutch in time since it was worn out and that it was your fault that the syncro went on it.... So be prepared to go to war with them or call some other dealers and see if you can get them to honor the so called "warranty". Good luck let us know what happens
