Does the stock exhaust have a flapper in the muffler like the R32s and g35s do?

VA state code

Use the link below and research what the ticket is for. There should be a number or something that corresponds to a law in the VA state code that he's accusing you of violating. Print out the code and take it to court with you. I encourage everyone to do this anytime they are given a ticket. If more people did the research and went to court, most cops would stop giving out ridiculous tickets.

Is this what the ticket is for?????
46.2-1047. Muffler cutout, etc., illegal.

It shall be unlawful to sell or offer for sale any (i) muffler without interior baffle plates or other effective muffling device or (ii) gutted muffler, muffler cutout, or straight exhaust. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate on the highways in the Commonwealth a motor vehicle, moped, or motorized skateboard or scooter equipped with a gutted muffler, muffler cutout, or straight exhaust.

You might need to notify Mitsubishi on this one. It's possible that the stock muffler might not meet the above conditions.

That sucks. It will probably cost you more than the ticket to go to court. But you need to just for your rights

Now let me draw in color and describe what's going on here so you can better explain it to the judge...

When the exhaust isn't flowing a lot, the backpressure valve is closed, making the exhaust flow along the red line (the dotted section goes under - actually around - the center can in the muffler, through the section which I colored yellow). When you are hard on the throttle, it opens the backpressure valve and flows through the section that I colored blue along the green arrow.
