I agree, it's a pellet or BB shot. I had the same thing happen on my MR2, they were aiming for the driver's side window and hit 1" below, and it had the same impression on the door skin.

The "best" fix is to replace the A pillar skin, but you are looking at LOTS of money.

The correct bang for the buck fix is to remove all the surrounding trim and tape it off, grind the BB dent and the surrounding area of all paint, oils, and to make a texture. Then bondo, smooth, primer, paint, clear coat.

It's a day job and can be done by the do-it-yourselfer with some cojones. for less than $100. Or you can call your insurance, and depending on your deductable do a comprehensive claim... or pay a body shop to do it.

Thanks for all the advicve/sympathy guys. There's no way I'm going to try doing it myself, but chances are I'll have to wait a few days (or weeks) to land an appointment at a good body shop. I'm concerned that it will start rusting more before then, though. Anything I can do to keep rust at bay until a body shop can fix this?

The problem is I don't have anyone to hurt. Believe me, I've already fantasized about walking to the car while it was happening and chasing the *******s down.

What's with people anymore? It's seems whoever did this to you is a worthless piece of junk that doesn't to breath.

Just fill it and the surrounding area with wax. It will keep water out till you get it fixed.

If u see a punk kid around ur hood i would rough him up, and ask which one of his buddys has a pellet gun. At the least word will get around, and the snot nosed kid that really did it will be scared.

Just bought some #W37 touch-up paint. Anything I should know before applying it? Remember, this is a temporary fix to keep rust at bay. I'll call a body shop Monday.

Sand the rust off and throw some clear nail polish (from your girl) on there. It will seal it while you are looking for a decent body shop.

Good luck

looks like the work of a few bored immature hooligans. If it can do that to one of the strongest parts on the car, imagine what would happen if it were aimed at your head...
