DynoFlash: Negative review of customer service.

Over the course of 2 1/2 years Al tuned my car 4 times at a total cost of $1100. 3 weeks ago I bought a USED Forge BOV that he begged me to buy for $230 to correct his awful tuning. The Forge fluttered like CRAZY on the way home from ICS and I sent it back at his request for a refund. Tracking information says he received it close to 3 weeks ago and he still refuses to refund me, he wouldnt even answer my PM's until I complained to a moderator here on Evom (thanks Charles). I finally had to open a dispute with Paypal and still am waiting for my money back. What kind of business drains his Paypal account so he cant even offer customers a refund? To top it off he went as far as draining his checking account so Paypal couldnt tap into it to award me my refund As far as his tunes go ...I keep getting CEL lights and stalling issues, also bucking under light accel/decel. He only tunes for wide-open throttle situations and totally neglects the important everyday partial throttle aspects of a tune. Hey Al, instead of driving that Scooby around why dont you buy another street Evo and maybe then you can dial in a street tune.....Now its time for me go to elsewhere and get a real tune with friendly customer service.
I guess the $1100 in custom tunes gets me the worst customer service I have yet to experience in this industry. Congrats on that!

Before the Mods pull this, I have contacted Charles and let him know my situation and to verify my story by going through my PM's. What I have stated above is is exactly the way it happened no matter what Al will say next. It is truly a pitiful display

i'm watching to see if this thread gets deleted.

Having nothing to do with Al, i just always find it interesting which threads stay up on this forum and which one's don't......

Technically threads like this are exactly why we have this fourm........

I agree. Thats why I did it the way the Mods say to, by letting them know beforehand and stating the facts.

this thread should be safe.... the boards require us to check in with charlesJ first before doing any kind of posting in order to get the situation resolved. Then as long as you reference that in the post, the other mods wont touch it because the OP is following the board criteria.

to the OP, that sucks that you have to go thru this, but i can honestly say im not surprised. Al did the same thing to me awhile back.... then i learned my lesson and have been doing my best to give a hard time ever since. If you'd like, you are welcome to send me his tune and i will look it over and make any changes i think need to be made in order to help you with your issues. Best of luck to you

I know nothing of AL or Dynoflash. I do know that MELLON TUNED my car and I couldnt be more satisfied. You said you got 4 tunes in a 2 year period. I got 5 tunes in a 3 week period. Why so many you ask? Because when he tunes your car he will not stop till its SAFE as can be with the most gains. Oh all this for 350$ and I would recommend any 1 looking for a tune to goto MELLON! As for gains I went from a 13.8 to a 12.5 quarter mile E/T.

Not really knocking your gripe cause youve spent a great deal of money. However the O2 feedback controls the part throttle closed loop operations not too much we can do yet there. The maps in your ECU that tuners tweak are open loop maps ie. WOT situations. As for cels and part throttle bucking

Plugs, Wires, Boost Leaks, what other DV did you use besides the Forge?

This isnt the first time I have heard of thier valve causing issues. Take it apart and clean it worked for my buddy Dans

All the negative symtoms started after his last tune. I only had the Forge on for the ride home and sent it back. He tuned my pump gas tune with my 1g BOV (that works great by the way). Thats when he insisted that the forge would be best for the race gas tune. It fluttered all the way home on the highway after trying all the soft and hard settings to no avail, I sent it back. I dont no why the part throttle was affected, but it sucks...

Was the car good after the first 3 times you had him tune it?

We have a forum for exactly these types of reviews called Service, Parts & Tuning Review. It has specific rules to ensure both members and vendors are held responsible for their comments.

There is already a discussion occurring here:
