Driving the Dragon November 27th- 30th

Just thought I would post here to let people in different regions know that there is a last minute Dragon run planned for the last week in November. Here's the info:
I know this is very short notice, but there are several of us planning on driving up to the Dragon in the last week of November. I have a business meeting in the area on the 26th, that's why we picked that week and the fact that this is the best time of the year to hit the Dragon, no crowds, hardly any slow traffic and little if any LEO's. We'll be leaving south FL on the 25th, although part of the group may be leaving a day or two later. We plan on running the Dragon and surrounding roads from Tuesday afternoon thru Friday.
Post or email if you're interested in meeting up.

Here's a link, read the most recent account of the current conditions:

Wow!! Bad timing! I just got back from the Dragon. I was up there Oct 28-31. Killboy got pictures of me on the 28th. Good news - No LEOS!!! I didn't see any police on the road or at either end. (I know it was THP causing the problem)

Yeah I new you were going but my schedule wouldn't allow me to break away then, now i can and I can deduct the trip too!

Cereally folks,
if you aren't too far away, you ought to come, as this is driving the Evo where it shines the best and you'll experience G's in a way that you can't even come close to on the track. The bikes can barely keep up, if I knew the road better, they couldn't, period!

Agreed to all the above. If you want to drive the Evo to it's fullest this is THE Place. The Dragon, the Hellbender just to the east, and a few other roads in that area will really show you what the Evo is really all about. Check out Tail of the dragon and they also have some really nice scenic roads.

Just giving you a little bump there Blamo!

Yeah, life sucks. let me know about the spring run though... If I can make it I'll be a happy camper. If it's on a long weekend or something maybe I can squeeze a few days out of my supervisor.

It is tough to get people to go up there though. I spent two years trying to get the TEMEVO people to go up but their excuse was always "It's too far, I don't want to put miles on the car." Or "What's the big deal about it. It's just a road." Poor clueless fools!!!

Honestly since I did that drive the first time in 2005 I'd wanted to go back and this time I was able to convince the wife to go. WooHoo!! And then when I was up there on the Dragon she was grabbing onto the 'Oh $hit handle' and screaming "INCONCEIVABLE!" (inside Joke)

I think the problem is you have to get them up there at least once for them to want to go up again.

Oh well.... bump Again!!!!

ps Check out Killboy.com Sunday October 28 pictures 282-288. He nailed me going around a switchback.
