Beatrush Underpanel modified with dzus fasteners

Big Kudos to Ty, formerly at RRE for hooking this up for me! It used to take forever to remove the Beatrush Underpanel due to all the screws you have to remove, now i have dzus fasteners replacing most of the screws now. There's only about 5 or so of the orignal screws that are being used. So, now it only takes a 1/4 turn to unhook the fasteners and i can probably remove the whole underpanel in 2-3 minutes. The springs are attached via rivets. Rivet size and hole is 1/8" and the Dzus hole size is about 3/8" if you like a tight fit, otherwise Ty drilled them out to 15/36".

For the front bumper tabs, you can replace the OEM rivets with these 1/4 dzus fasteners. You will need approx. 15 of them. You can also use it on the "wing looking" bracket for the front plate as well.

For the fasteners that were riveted on since clip on retainers wouldn't work in that location, i don't have part #'s since my installer purchased it at a local aerospace parts company and he is no longer working at the shop. However, for the locations where clip on retainers will not work, this might work if you have access to a rivet gun and willing to experiement: http://kurveygirl.com/shop/product_i...products_id=70

"mmm...it feels warm and wet when i stick my hand in here"

I'm shivering my a$$ off in freezing rain and someone is laying under the car in flip flops and shorts out in LA. Damn you!

Love the fastener mod - it's a great idea. I wish I could have my entire front done that way.

Very nice idea. Was interested in purchasing one of these. Now install shouldn't take too long. Thanks for the information!

From: @ a track near you
I finally got around to installing the undertray and setting it up to use the dzus fasteners.

I ended up having to widen some of the holes in the undertray with the dremel so the fasteners would line right up, but it wasn't too much trouble.

It's so worth the conversion, it makes getting under there for oil changes and removing the tow hook cover for track days so much easier.

Thanks for the write-up!
