the book says it is for lower rpms. I have one and I have manually tried to spray it while searching for a drop of water and found nothing.

It is supposed to make the air coming in colder therefore denser and add hp- i think it is a scam

I really don't think that you will actually feel any difference.

I have never turned mine on.

After a few drag runs or auto crossing, intercoolers will heat soak especially stock ones. Heat soak= power drop. The intercooler sprayer helps to prevent that a little.

on auto mode it sprays for 2 seconds every 5 seconds. it is used for higher rpms and mainly when the car is undergoing a lot of stress in high temps such as driving up hills when its hot outside.

I have seen people use washer fluid, alcohol, water and a water/alcohol mix.....

I can't say that I've ever heard anyone reporting a difference. I figure using water on the intercooler would cool the unit down a little bit, but really to prevent heat soak is a much bigger problem than can be solved with a water sprayer. Mine was disconnected.

the ones i saw were used at lower RPMs since there isnt much wind hitting the intercooler. as you pick up speed you dont really need it since you are creating wind impacted the FMIC.

i guess you could use it all the way around though. dont see it doing much of a difference to where someone could feel it or not...........

When I had my Evo, I would set it to auto spray. I heard that it only sprays when the air hitting the intercooler is too hot. Whatever the case may be, there will be no difference that you can feel, but you should be able to hear it spraying

the last time my friend and I tuned / logged my car I did a few runs the air temps were over 105..I used the IC spray for a good 15 20 seconds..the intake temps were 3-5 deg cooler the next run.

To make the factory intercooler sprayer more effective, you have to add two more nozzles on top so it spray on more of the intercooler, and then use winter formula windshield washer fluid. In the summer, it's noticebly different when setup right.

I got a question...

I got a intercooler sprayer kit with a 5lb bottle...which was intended for my vr4. Is it worth putting on my Evo IX??...

I heard it really wasnt worth the effort, but at the same time it doesnt hurt!!?!?...and i dont want to do a dry or wet shot.

NOTE: my car is completely stock.
