Do Evo’s have a “Black Box”?
as far as I can tell, there is no true EDR on 03 and 04 evos..
I do know that the module for the airbag does capture some information when airbags are deployed
Anything that triggers an SES will capture snapshot data, which contains speed, tps, rpm, O2 sensor data, fuel trims, etc.. However it is diagnostic data and has nothing to do with EDR, though its possible an accident may trigger an SES when it happens.
The black box at the left rear side of the car is the Evap canister.
I haven't looked closely at an 05 or 06 wiring diagram, but I'm sure if there was an EDR, it would be wired into several sensors or be fed information from the ECU.

Can anyone use this information to make any further conclusions?
This has been a huge issue and debated for quite some time now. Alot of vehicular manslaughter cases push to use the EDR's data to convict drivers for driving like ***-hats. Far as I know, the dealership cannot use its data against you in any way (if you'rre worried about warranty.)
