I am getting a V1 after Christmas and will be getting this soon after. If the cop is hitting you with laser, the V1 will let you know and the Blinder will obviously block it, and when used in conjunction, Would give you plenty of time to get back to the "normal speed"

I love my V1. It has the best laser detection out of any detector out there and the best KA range. K band range is great too. The laser detection is so good that I get laser "falses" almost every time I drive thanks to those gdamn new Lexus' and Nissan's that use laser. Read up at radardetector.net. Great website. Lots to learn. It basically comes down to what you want out of your detector. If you dont mind a noisey detector but want ultimate protection, get a
V1. If you want good filtering and quiet but still good detection, go for a escort passport or if you want gps capability the new 9500i. If you want complete stealth and live in Canada or other places where radar detectors are illegal, get the Beltronics STi Driver. Hope this helps.

The Blinders are nice. However, there are better laser jammers out there...

what are the better jammers out there???

and my V1, i have had for i think 3 years now, what is amazing is you can send in your old one and they will give you their newest, you have to have all the paperwork though. It has saved me SOOOOO many times. especially being able to see what direction the cop is coming from, its great!

I love my V1 especially cause it has options like the remote display or the motorcycle remote module. I did the same install that someone here on the forum, concealed display in the clock and remote module in the ashtray. I love it!!
Dont think I could live without the arrows anymore either!!

The Laser Interceptor, AL, and LPP are all better than the Blinder at jamming lidar.

The Valentine One is the best at detecting radar and laser. Look how bad the Escort Solo S2 did at detecting radar in the test below.

This is why the Escort Solo S2 sucks so bad and isn't worth the money.

Just remember when your Valentine One goes off, don't do what this driver did.

Because there's no way to see what's more than say 500 feet up the road. Cops can be very selective with their radar gun when they know that you can't see them. If they see someone obviously speeding, they'll hold off on firing the gun until you're right on top of them, and at that point, any radar detector just provides confirmation that you're about to get a ticket. Its happened to me before. I'm very cautious about night time speeding now. The road has to be very straight and have many cars ahead of me so that I have a chance of catching the radar signal from a cop hitting a car in front of me.

Ok, the first problem is getting a cordless radar detector. They are underpowered. You can not compare the Solo2 to the V1. The Escort 8500 X50 is the direct competitor to the V1. Check out radarbusters.com. The Escor and the V1 tested very close on the head to head comparisons that they have links to. Note that Beltronics and Passport radar detectors are made by the same company now. Same components and perform very closely. Between the Beltronics top of the line, the Escort 8500 X50 and the V1 it's a crapshoot. Get whichever one looks best/is priced best/is in stock etc.
But as has been mentioned, the laser protection is pretty spotty on all detectors. You are not likely to pick up laser scatter and once the laser hits you, it is too late. That being said, my Escort 8500 has saved me many times versus radar. I had two tickets within the year prior to getting the detector but have not had any in the two years since I got it (and I upgraded vehicles to a Toyota Supra TT and an Evo IX SE since getting the detector). But even against radar a detector is not a sure bet. If you are the only one on the road and the officer waits until he sees you to turn on his gun, its too late. He's got you. Your only hope in detecting radar is that he zapped someone else or has the radar on all the time.
But, as I said, it was a good investment for me (just dont go cordless, they suck).

I have two V1's, and think the world of them. They are chatty, though, so get a ride with someone who owns one if you think that might not be for you. (Or just get it, and if you don't like it, you can ebay it for every penny you have in it.)
