I honestly don't know how the other companies can compete with something that's so proven. V1 FTW! Works even better once you disable X band and increase Ka sensativity.

there are other detectors besides the v1 thata re great..the passport x50 the beltronics sti driver/the beltronic rx65....the v1 has an edge because it shows you where the threat is coming from..but its display is outdated as hell....but it does have slightly better range then the rest...and ill put it out there no RADAR detector will protect you from laser...once you are hit by laser and your radar goes off the trooper already has your speed...thats why you have to buy a good laser jammer so the trooper cant get a reaDING TEMporarily.....good laser jammers will run at least 450 bills...laser jammers are only worth it if yoo travel the highways alot...and you can disable xband on other detectors as well..for example i have xband disabled on my passport x50..but you can also go high high end with the Calibre brand of radar/jamming equipment..my buddy has it on his m5 but it cost over a thousand bucks installed...and its effectiveness is based on how it is installed 95% of the time

The K40 has already been tested by an independent party and it failed to jam any lidar guns used by the police and it had marginal radar detection.

Unfortunately the state of Oklahoma has made it illegal to own a laser jammer. I believe it is illegal everywhere to own a radar jammer since radar is governed by the FCC, and they have passed regulations to ban the jammers. Believe it or not, laser falls under the jurisdiction of the FDA who has not passed any regulations regarding laser jammers. It is up to each state to pass those regulations and Oklahoma decided to stick it to us.

Anyhow, I never tried the VOne so I like to get some inputs on how well it perform. Thanks ahead for your comments!
I used to buy every new Passport detector that came out. Every one of them. They were good, but since I bought my Valentine One I have never looked back. The V1 is amazing not only for its range, but also that it tells you the direction of the threat, and how many are out there. I used to think this was a little gimmicky, until I passed one state trooper with the V1 and the number '2' popped up with arrows forward and backward. Little did I know that the one I just passed had a friend another half mile up the road. Had this been a normal detector I would probably have just blown off the beeping thinking I already passed the threat, and I would have got nabbed by the next guy. Since then I have bought (4) Valentine One detectors and I have them in most of my cars.

yeah, im not gonna be biased or say v1 is the best but ive had cobra's from all the series model you can imagine. Bottom line cobra sucks, but my friend had an escort and passport the highest models and we always fight about it. I personally think they are all top of the line and good but like many other users of the v1, I LOVE THE DIRECTIONAL ARROWS!!! saved me a bunch of times, was complicated at first cuz it actually has a manual and how to for dummies on detection and situation awareness.
