valentine one install

Have any of you guys wired your valentine 1 radar detector through the upper roof wiring?

If so can you tell me how you did it?

I can't use the cigarette lighter adapter with the valentine one,
it doesn't seem to work....

i have my V1 hard wired in. I have it tooked up to the back of my apline HU. I ran the wire throught the A piller and under the dash, the wire comes out just above ther rear view mirror. And hooked up the power wire to the ingnition wire in the back of the HU, works great.

Did you plug the V1 into the correct jack on the lighter adapter? This may be a stupid question, but I tried 3 different power (phone) cables until I realized I was plugging it into the "accessory" jack on the adapter...

I got it working, looks like there's no power to the cigarette lighter when the car shuts off...
