Well heres my problem I crashed my S2000 about two weeks ago at GMR went off the cliff basically and I'm thinking of moving on to an EVO but finding a clean semi-stock EVO is becoming a chore and if I do they're asking 27-28k man I can buy a low mileage S for that much bone stock too. What would you guys do in my shoes ( i know this is evo boards so answer will be bias). My reason for moving to evo is handles about as good and has more room can't forget more power and cheap to make power, but clutch/trans are iffy from my experience and from reading up.

Crashed S2000
buy another S or buy EVO
problem finding clean evo without paying up the A-O

It's hard to determine the value of the cars you've looked at without more info on them, but I would say a semi-stock Evo IX would be worth that amount, assuming the mileage is still low. Also consider that right now they are somewhat in demand with people trying to get one before the X comes out. Remember too that most people that want to get rid of their Evo for a low price is doing so for a reason (probably not a good reason either). Then you have others who are willing to sell it, but don't necessarily want too, so they are gonna sell at a price slightly above the value to help sway their decision.
Basically it all boils down to how bad you want one. If you don't buy it at that price, chances are that someone who really wants one will. I say that if you are undecided between the two, really like your past s2k, and can get another cheaper than an Evo, then go with the s2k.

I just sold my S2k to get an Evo, but I live in MN and it just makes more sense for all-season use. If I lived in SoCal (not sure where you're located in CA) it would be pretty tough to get rid of the convert since the weather is so nice out there! Both are great cars in their own ways.
As an only car, definitey the Evo. I'd LOVE to have an S2k, but it's just not practical as an only car. Can't take people to the airport if they have more than a weekend bag, can't buy a lot of groceries, can only fit one passenger, etc. etc. Heck, my parents were just in town visiting; if I only had the S2k, I would've had to rent a car to shuttle them around.
Personally Ive owned nothing but hondas and decided to give the EVO a try and don't know why I didn't do it sooner. The S2000 is an awesome car but as far as cargo space and room, the S2000 does lack that.I think you will be very happy with an EVO.Good luck.

Not to start a debate but in my opinion the S just looks sexy compared to the evo =]. Well my search continues to find a good cond evo haha I've been around them quite a bit and worked on them so when I pop the hood and its missing heatshields or all the bolts are diff on the heatshield I'm like okay this cars been messed with..
s2k's are really nice, if you live in a hotter area, keep the s2k for the drop top and you will be able to drive it all year around. but if you live in an area that snows, or you need more passanger room, the evo is where its at. i love my evo!!
