Considering an evo..

Well right now I have a 04 350z (Intake, spacer), but have been looking at Evo's for awhile now. Theyre AWD, turbo, easier to mod...plus with back seats. Im just wondering if anyone on here has switched from a 350z to an evo...give me the pro's and cons. And btw, Im still yet to drive an evo.

imo, i would go test drive a few evos at some dealers, look up all the specs on them and compare them to you z. if you like the way it feels, go for it.

I have owned both an Evo and an 06 GT 350Z with Nismo suspension, intake, 19" LMGT4's, Invidia exhaust, spacer, etc. The evo will out handle and out run a 350 no problem, especially with any work done to the Evo. The 350Z was a nice looking car for sure and fun because of the smaller cockpit like interior, but the Evo will out perform. Definitely go drive an Evo.

You should really test drive one cause imo they aren't very comparable interior wise and ride comfort. But an evo is a hell of a performance car.

Haha +1 but definitely go drive one, after that your next thread should be "Just traded z for evo"

I knew that..that's why I asked for peoples advice that has owned both for comparison.

But yeah, thanks for all the answers. Im going to try to test drive one this week and we'll see from there. I like the looks of 350z better but Evo's performance will be a big plus.

Thanks

Yup, I had a friend who owned a VW R32. Loved it. I took my Evo to his house one day and let him take a spin. Talked to him two days later and he had traded his R32 for an Evo.

350z's are extreamly hard to make power on unless you go forsed induction, the evo is much friendly to modification, and awd is way more fun then rwd

If you want to get convinced to buy an Evo, you came to the right place!

The 350z is a fine car, and by that I mean its a FINE car....good looking, has a nice motor but its tough to mod, hard winter drive, no back seat and overall, is a liveable daily driver until it snows or you have someone to put in the back seat.

Both are fine cars, I would say but the 350z is definitely the kind of car you'd want as a second car. The evo is much more liveable, mod-capable and definitely all around a more fun car. What you pay for? Build quality, weak trannies and clutches and so-on, but need not worry...

There are so many aftermarket parts your head would spin......

AWD is certainly easier to drive, but I'd say RWD is 'way more fun'.

I know a kid with a 370WHP S/C 350z. He'll pull maybe 2-3 cars on me from 20-100+. It's heavily modded. If the work he put into the z was put into an Evo, it'd be a 400AWHP+ car.
