Hit a water puddle, now belt or P/S squeal

A few days ago i hit a pretty deep puddle and water splashed pretty hi in the car.

After that, i notice the serpentine belt was squealing/humming a bit. I bought belt dressing/lube and used it but the squealing is still there, it didnt even lower the noise at all.

I notice that the noise is coming from the P/S pump area, so i think the P/S might be going out. Thing is the car only has 50k and this noise only started after i hit the water puddle.

Anyone have any idea's or suggestions before i do anything??

Try tightening up the belt a bit...see if that'll help.

Sounds to me like a loose belt. Why not try checking the tensioners?

maybe dirt from the water got in and the noise is cause by abrasion.

I have a buddy that works for Mitsubishi, he told me about another car that did this. They pulled off all the pulleys, cleaned them and put on some anti squeal grease and the noises went away.
