I have bougfht a Turbo off a EVO 9 GT Turbo, fast spooling turbo so what cams should I fit?? .

Looking for the best cam to aid spool

Ive got it down to a few sets

He wants the quickest spooling cam. Not the cam with the best top end. HKS cams are great, but for what he's looking for, the S1's are the choice. Just for comparisons sake, My friend and I have basically the same setups, but I have S1's and he has HKS 272's. Same tuner, same dyno, close conditions. 80 degrees and 80 % humidity. His numbers were like 350 HP and 320 FT-LBS. Mine are in my sig. Give or take a few for different variables. But the torque difference is strictly cam. Quick spool and hits hard. The HKS combo that would compare the closest would probably be a 264 IN 272 Ex.

The S1s work very well with "stock" turbos

 

Aint the Jun cams rather slow on spool and a bit aggressive?? Better suited to a GT30??

 

GSC S1s....or get some HKS 272 with adjustable cam gears

 

S1 are best for torque and spool

hks 272 are a great all around cam

jun are drag cams..... launch at 6k and never see below that so spool doesnt even matter...

 

HKS 264in 272 ex... BEST COMBO!!

 

Thought about that b4, I currently have Tomei Procams 270's but having a few problmes with them. So changing to something else. S1's look the best tho

 

majority wins! S1's are the best cam for your setup. Most area under the curve of any cam out there.
