The Official 50k check in!!
OOOO I wanna play!
I bought the car with 61k. I'm not sure how the car has been maintained or treated before. I do know most of the OEM services have been done, and regular oil changes. The car currenty has 75k.
Engine: Mods in sig. Runs strong. Boosts perfect. Regular oil changes. Replaced the timing belt. Threw a p0300 5 miles after the timing belt was replaced. I replaced the spark plugs and all was good. My assumtion was the new timing belt maybe just threw some sort of odd vibration tricking the ECU. Nothing bad to say other then the p0300 that was easily taken care of.
Drivetrain: Changed the fluids with OEM fluids twice since I've owned. A grind here and there, ususaly driver error, sometimes not. 5th gear grinds ONLY when shifted too fast at high RPM's. A clunk here and there at low speeds, nothing abnormal. No whining
I presume the car has been taken VERY good care of or has already had the T-case replaced. Nothing REALLY bad to day about the drivetrain though.
Exterior: Tarmac black. The bumper is a mess (permenant bug staints, rock chips). The hood is a mess (same a bumper). The Fenders are ehh. Rear doors are a mess (rock chips galore). But everything else is free of any major damage other then the normal surface scratches or slight dings. Wing is all f'ed up. No longer covered under the facotry warrenty
Interior: Driver's seat shows a little wear. Driver seat bolster is a little loose. Stock shift knob is worn. Steering wheel wears off on your hands on a humid day
Other than that, nothing major.
Suspension: I've had a few mystery clunks that will appear for a few days then go away and come back months out of nowhere. I haven't been able to find any problems. Endlinks are a little loose. Swapped out the S-techs that came on the car when I bought it for Swift's. MUCH better
Suspension defiantly needs improved though. Bilstiens struts, and Whiteline sway bars and endlinks coming soon!
I'm impressed with the car and how great of shape it's in. I've seen and heard of Evo's with less than half the milage I have that are totally trashed. Blown stock motors, tranny's, diffs etc.
I'm often discouraged about having 75k on my Evo, so I'm happy to hear about 100k+ Evo's still making great power and running strong

I just turned over 50K miles this past weekend. woot! woot!
I bought the car with 28K miles 2 years ago from an AF member shipping out to Iraq.
He had bought the car new and the glove box was full of all the service receipts. It was in great shape and had NO mods - just what I wanted. It was a blank slate, so to speak. I was very pleased with my purchase then and I'm still pleased today.
Engine: BR cone filter, BR SS MAF pipe, Hallman MBC, APS dual vent BOV/DV, Helix down pipe, Helix test pipe, Greddy EVO2 cat-back (modified to 3”), HKS 264/264 cams, Nisei LICP, Walbro 255Lph fuel pump, IX turbo, PPI ported ex manifold, SS O2 housing, ETS 3” FMIC, 1,000cc RC injectors, E85 tune by Scot Gray
Drivetrain: And my favorite mod of all, the Krayzie Bone Gold Toof Ball'r Deluxe clutch package from RRE.
Exterior: Apex Silver. Wingless FTW!
Interior: A little wear here and there.
Suspension: Only suspension mod are the Tanabe GF210 Springs. I had to do something with the jack-up OEM look.
Looking forward to enjoying putting the next 50K miles on my EVO.

Mods in Sig...I now have 73K miles on mine and I couldn't be happier. About to have the Winns 3 stage cleaning done by Apagan01 on the 27th to freshen up the top end of the engine so I'll give updates when its completed. But for now it still runs strong.
so my car just hit the 50k mark last week. i have an 03' weightless white evo 8. i'm the original owner so it was brand spanking new when i got it (3 miles on it).
anyways here's my list of good and bad:
the good:
stock clutch
stock tranny
pretty much anything that i left stock is in good condition.
the bad:
alternator just died
battery is dead (because of the alternator dying)
brake caliper clear coat chipping (dealer won't cover)
clear coat on wing coming off also (again dealer won't cover)
the ugly:
my car is rusting like a ****. i have 3 other buddies who have the car, same year but differnt color and they don't have half the rust i have. under the wing there's rust, under the hood, under the car, inside the door. it's so bad that even the plastics are rusting. if i sat there long enough i'd probably rust. there are parts of the car that's not expose to any salt and water and even that part is rusting.
my mods:
Injen upper and Nisei lower intercooler piping
MR bov
Tanabe GF210 spring
ss goodridge brake line
hawks brake pads (not really a mod i guess)
ss clutch line
Greddy SP2 turbo back
Ultimate Racing 3" cat
Greddy turbo timer
walbro fuel pump
AEM intake
short shifter
weighter shift knob
zaklee underhood bushing
zaklee in-car shifter bushing
mail-in tune
Mitsubishi guages (boost, voltage, oil temp)
Hallman in-car boost gauge
Alpine radio
Recaro infant seat (for my daughter of course)
it's my daily drive so i can't mod it too heavily......plus the wife would not allow it.
the car is great other than the rust problems. i hope it last me another 5 years. by then everything would be rusted out and only my air freshener is left.

Your 5th gear sounds like it's grinding out. When you get your transmission rebuilt, get an 04/05 5th gear. On the 03's the 5th gear doesn't get enough oil and it ends up coming apart. If you drain your transmission and find any metallic it's probably from that gear.
Mine is at 55k right now.
Exterior: Little rock chip here and there which is normal. I had the rear wing replace do to the CF fading. The brembo clear coat peels off, but that's nothing new to us Evo owners. Dealer won't warranty that.
Interior: Almost look brand new.
Engine: Runs and Idle just like when I first bought it. Except for more power since I added the Elbow, DP, Exhaust and drop in intake. The only problem I have is that, once in awhile when the car warms up. There's this rattling/clincking noise that come from the TC/Tranny area. I'm not sure if my DP is hitting something or my Clutch is going bad. The noise still continues when I step on the clutch so not so sure.
Suspension: I upgraded my GSR to the MR Bilstein with Swift springs. Rides great. But whenever I make a moderate to hard right turn, there's this clincking noise that comes from the passenger rear. It only happens when I turn right. I'm hoping that it's the wheel bearing and not the diff.
Transmission: It's holding up great, there's a little, almost not noticeable whine.

I just passed 50k. The car has cams, exhaust, motor mounts, and 21psi. The clearcoat is still shiny almost like a new car, cuz I garage it well. The carbon fiber wing looks just like new still. The car runs strong.
Only problem it had was a 5th gear grind that developed suddenly during year 4, which the dealer fixed under warranty. I've logged about 40 autocross events, and still regularly race every month. My front driver side Brembo caliper is peeled to hell. The others have a few scratches here and there. Couple paint chips.
Suspension feels stiff on the street, but kinda aging on the tracks:

Sup bros,
I hit 60k last week, so its been a little under a year since i started this thread, and ive put 10k miles on her.
UPDATES:
Exterior:
Bumper is speckeled, mirrors are fading, my left HID is not as bright as the right side. I also had 2 bulbs burn out.(license plate, parking.)
Interior:
I replaced shift knob and center console due to wear and tear.
Engine:
Replaced air filter and doing timing belt soon.
Drivetrain:
Shep transfer case installed so no more whine. Also did front rotors and pads.
This car is def taking a beating from daily use, but theres no doubt in my mind that it will never leave me stranded. I LOVE THIS CAR.

well, i'm at 106k on my 06 IX MR, and so far no problems. mods are in sig (basically stock)...stock clutch started going on me at around 70k, changed the timing belt, balance shaft belt, and spark plugs at 60k... can't remember how many sets of tires i've been through haha change the oil every 5k with royal purple, and mobil1 filter... i change the tranny and diff fluids every 15k with OEM diaqueen. car still runs 12's, and autocrosses like a champ. hell, the first time i ever drag raced it was with over 60k miles on it. i ran a best time of 12.82 @ 107.41 with a 1.86 60' with about 65k miles on the car and stock clutch. if not for cold wet tires, i think i could have gotten into the 12.6 range.
