I have a braille battery that weighs 12 pounds and it works fine in my Mustang. Since it's cold out, it does get a little weak after a few days of not driving, but when I daily drove it, I had no problems at all.
Be sure not to forget to turn off your lights with that battery. I left my parking lights on for 20 minutes accidentally (not even headlights) and the car barely started.

Anyone know the dimensions or weight for a miata battery?
Also--that odyssey pc680 also puts out a lot of cranking amps;
680 cranking amps for 5 seconds
595 cranking amps for 10 seconds
525 cranking amps for 20 seconds
Though another page on the linked site in this thread says the CCA's are 220.

No. This would be the first winter with the mini battery. From the beginning I had wanted to just mount an Optima battery in the trunk, but when I I came across ther chance to buy the alky kit, BR uic pipe, and mini batt kit together for an awesome price, I said screw it and see what happens.

Believe it or not, I did. I went to several parts stores around here. I checked for Civic and Miata batteries, and came up with nothing. Then again, that could just be becuase most of the places around here suck..

Just got some info from Nisei....
They're going to be coming out with an ETX16 battery kit--with more cranking amps and reserve capacity than the pc680 odyssey. Might be something to look into...

Good sized battery that should fit with UICP, its a max of 5" wide, compared to the PC680 which is 3" wide.

From what I've read, the Duralast Miata battery HERE is made by the same company that makes the WestCo battery(East Penn). Only $85 and more than likely IN-STOCK isn't half bad. Just not sure if it will fit with a Buschur UICP. Its dimensons are:
Length 7 1/2"
Width 5"
Height 7"
Weight 24lbs
Anyone able to measure the available space with a buschur UICP???????
A far better battery in the elements of winter, plus leaving your parking lights on won't do as much damage as it would to something as small as the PC680
