Why No Mitsubishi EVO car commercial ?

My son asked me why is there no EVO car commercials. I had the same question.
Wouldn't they sell more EVO's if they do advertise? So what IS the reason why there is no TV commercials?

its not a hugely competitive market. Just like you see minimal advertising for Porsche's and Lamborghini's. It is not a practical car not to mention there isnt huge demand for it. It also doesnt help that it is the only car Mitsu doesnt have a problem selling out of.

I wished that they would advertise. Then consumers would know about the EVO, so then, some may buy. If any product is not advertise, then people won't know about it and they won't buy. In a way it's good for the buyers; it keeps the price low.

Because some people would probably whine and complain that it provokes street racing like those in Canada.

I think most typical Evo owners or potential owners get their information from different types of media outlets beyond TV. Most performance junkies already know about the Evo through forums like this and videos on places like youtube.

Commercials are like any other business investment, you want the greatest return, so you advertise your bread and butter products i.e. family compact/midsize sedans and pickup trucks. Those bring the most volume and profit and are in the most competitive segments.

some of you guys have really good points but they went through the trouble of coming out with a commercial for the Lancer, so I'd assume there would be an Evo one to follow. Oh well.

95% of car owners use vehicles for basic transportation and TV is really the best way to reach them since they don't proactively seek out car knowledge.

Meanwhile most of us gear heads on this forum already know so much about the Evo X and we haven't seen a single commercial on TV.

So why would Mitsubishi bother wasting money on a TV ad for the Evo? See the point?

No I do see your point. I shouldn't have said that I EXPECTED an Evo commercial cuz I really didn't. Guess it would just be cool to see...haha

I love how they always use a Rally Red one for their commercials. They know the most appealing color.

Why would they advertise? There's zero new Evos in the US available (ok, maybe a handful).

I'm sure they'll advertise the new one.

Advertisers only advertise when they have something they are trying to sell. Mitsubishi has no problem selling out of EVO's...no reason to spend media dollars promoting the EVO when they have other cars that don't sell out.

not true...there was a cool ad with "mad world" playing in the background on tv.

sorry, had to call you on that on buddy.

Actually, I would've thought that a commercial for the X makes sense, only because it's obvious they dont' want it to be a "cult" car, like the 8 and 9 were. They're obviously trying to make it more mainstream in terms of looks, options, etc so why not take it mainstream advertising? I can see both sides though - I'd prefer the X not to turn into the next 350z or g35.
