Some Gas Stations Better Than Others??

Hey,

I just watched a special on the news that said some gas stations serve better 91 octane than others, based on the type of detergents they use. Better detergents give better performance and burn cleaner. Is this true, and how would you ever know what gas station to go to? Anyone know the companies that serve the best gas for our beasts? Post up the best gas you know of in your area...

Interesting. We don't have many 76's in Denver anymore. They were more prevalent ten years ago, but slowly disappeared.

BP is known as Arco in the US, or at least in SoCal. They're usually the cheapest gas station around.

A while back an acquaintence at Technosquare ran Shell, Chevron and Mobil through his AE86, which had nearly 12:1 compression and 302 cams. He saw detonation on Shell and Mobil, so he sticks with Chevron. No word on 76 though I hear they're good.

My buddies and I generally stick to Shell and Chevron.

krazirob,

correct me if I'm wrong, isnt BP the same as Aamoco? It seems like they are both co-branded

They started doing that across the country. There is no such thing as Amoco anymore.
