Wow. I am not sure if I should go with the COBB, maybe I should reconsider works. I already order the Works DP and their Resonated Test Pipe so I just need the catback. The info I got from IA Performance is that the COBB Fitment is great and that it was one of the quietest for the Evo. Anyone else have installed this catback system. Any feedback? I am really giving a second though to works

I think that post is the pnly negative one I have seen for the COBB and bad things will always appear on the internet. If there are no other horror stories maybe he just got a damaged exhaust. Does this makes sense?

Is anyone using a mechanical CEL fix with the COBB catback? I am not sure if it will fit based on the link posted on this thread.

Most of the JDM exhaust tappers down./so the fujitsubo/ But we measured 2.86. The fact is, it will not hurt your performance that much. You might loosing 1 hp or so...
I made with TBE , Intake + mbc + FMIC and fuel pump On 24 psi - 93 octain + Ivey tune, 360 whp and 340 wtq. ON 89 farenheit day. So i do think, that tapper can not be that bad. It was never an issue for me.

Well the measurement I made was when the exhaust was cool. Since metal expands when heated it probably gets a bit bigger to the 2.86 you measured warmed up.

Wow you made that much power with just exhaust intake mbc fmic, fuel pump and tune? Any more mods or just that? Evo IX right?

I saw in the COBB Forums that you also heard the Fujitsubo RM1A exhaust. How does it compare to your COBB exhaust in noise. I know the Fujitsubo is about $250 more than COBB. But I am just curious in the sound. I just have my car for over a month and there are not many Evos in PR (but many STIs) so I have not heard many Evo exhaust so far.
I actually haven't heard the RM1A in person...if I said that it was a mistake...I know a guy in Scottsdale AZ who had an 8RS...his car was on the cover of Dsport mag...anyways he used that exhaust because he said it was quiet.....that's probably want I meant to say.

And Yes...stephen at IA is really good guy!!!

Racer--

if I were you...since you already ordered the WORKS dp and rtp...I would just buy their cat back....IMO...i wouldn't mix and match this stuff...I know allot of people do that....but the systems regardless of what anyone says are designed to work "best" with their own products...mixing and matching "could" lead to fitment probs.

just my $0.02

I have not been able to find many reviews on the COBB set up. Only the mentioned You tube views. It seems to be very popular in the suby world. I live in Utah so when i do go for an exhaust set up i will be checking them out.

Nothing is going to be more quiet than the RRE Stealth Exhaust (while still maintaining a full 3" tubing dia). It has two resonators. One is about a foot long. The other is something like 30" long, and length is what's needed to tone down exhaust pitch. Its finished off with a good size Magnaflow muffler. The only drawbacks are that its kinda heavy, its kinda ugly, and the stainless version is around $650.
